Commvault partners with Kyndryl and Pure Storage for cyber resilience services

Data protection company Commvault has joined up with service provider Kyndryl to help customers recover faster, advance cyber resilience, and to deal with regulatory demands.

The collaboration between the two companies is aimed at augmenting Kyndryl's portfolio of cyber resiliency services, which encompasses Incident Recovery Services, including Cyber Incident Recovery, Managed Backup Services, and Hybrid Platform Recovery.

Under the partnership, Commvault and Kyndryl will collaborate with Pure Storage to assist organisations in complying with evolving regulations, including the European Union's Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), Network and Information Security Directive 2 (NIS2), Revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2), as well as New York Department of Financial Services 23 NYCRR Part 500 (NYDFS NYCRR 500) and Australia's Australian Prudential Regulation Authority Prudential Standard CPS 230 (APRA CPS 230).

"Cyber preparedness is no longer regarded as optional for global organisations; it is mandatory," Allen Downs, vice president of security and resiliency services at Kyndryl, said.

"Our partnership with Kyndryl is built to address the biggest challenges facing the enterprise today, such as the persistent threat of cyberattacks, including ransomware, and the increasing complexity of managing massive data growth across multi-cloud environments," Alan Atkinson, chief partner officer at Commvault, said.

"When combined with the innovative Pure Storage platform, the three companies are together helping organisations stay resilient and prepared to act decisively in the face of disruption."

The services from Commvault and Pure Storage deliver a modular, four-layer architecture that streamlines the compliance process and accelerates recovery across hybrid cloud environments.

A Cyber Resilient Vault provides an isolated, immutable data vault built on zero-trust principles, protecting backup data from unauthorised access and corruption.

The Clean Recovery Zone creates a secure environment for forensic analysis, validation of clean backups, and staged recovery operations.

Production Rapid Restore enables fast, reliable restoration of large datasets using Pure Storage FlashBlade, with immutability powered by Simple Storage Service (S3) Object Lock and SafeMode.

Immutable Snapshot Recovery provides application-consistent snapshot replication with Commvault IntelliSnap and Pure Storage FlashArray, enabling rapid restoration of Tier-1 workloads.

"As regulatory frameworks like Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) set higher standards for operational resilience, organisations are implementing strategies that integrate regulatory compliance with the ability to recover swiftly from cyber disruption," Maciej Kranz, general manager, enterprise at Pure Storage, said.

"Together with Commvault and Kyndryl, we're delivering advanced security features and a scalable foundation of layered resilience that helps organisations meet these mandates and restore critical operations quickly and reliably."

The offerings provided by Commvault and Pure Storage facilitate automated and continuous testing for cyber recovery.

This includes support for Commvault Cleanroom Recovery within both public cloud environments and on-premises isolated recovery environments managed by Kyndryl.

Service availability is throughout North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Channel partners can access deal registration, training, and co-branded collateral through Commvault's Partner Advantage program, Kyndryl's go-to-market teams, and Pure Storage's Partner Portal.
