Supermarket giant Coles has become a reseller for Optus prepaid mobile plans.
Coles is selling a '$10 for 10 days' prepaid plan offering unlimited national calls and text and 400MB on Optus’ 4G plus network. Coles is also selling a $10 pay-as-you-go plan charging 12 cents per minute for national calls, 12 cents per SMS and 12 cents per MB of data.
“Our customers told us they’re looking for prepaid options to assist in managing tight budgets and they enjoy the simplicity and freedom of no commitments or contracts,” said Coles general manager Karin Zimmerman.
“We’re excited we can offer options on the Optus network for budget conscious shoppers such as mums managing mobile plans for the whole family.”
It follows deals between the pairs major rivals, Woolworths and Telstra.
Woolworths is reselling Telstra 3G pre-paid with $30 and $45 packages inclusive of voice, SMS and data.
That followed news in May when Woolworths became a wholesale supplier of Telstra’s 3G mobile network.
