Brisbane cloud integrator Data Outsource has developed a channel bundle combining an Intel Compute Stick with Microsoft cloud apps.
Dubbed the Cloud Compute Stick, the white-label product combines a $200 Intel Compute Stick with Microsoft Exchange, Sharepoint, Skype for Business, virtual private server (VPS), Active Directory and hosted CRM ranging from $4 to $15 per month.
Resellers can rebrand Data Outsource’s cloud platform and layer other applications on top of the Microsoft stack.
Within a week of its launch, 25 resellers had expressed interesting in selling the Cloud Compute Stick, said Data Outsource managing director Peter Black. “The closest thing to this thin clients, but I don’t know anyone else offering a product like this.
“We’ve been heavily dealing with cloud services for five years, and we’ve seen customers making huge investments in laptops that have gone underutilised. We’ve been looking for something to fix this for over a year, so Cloud Compute Stick is launching this week.”
The Intel Compute Stick runs Windows 8.1 and comes with 2GB RAM, 32GB storage and plugs into any screen via HDMI.
Data Outsource also sells Cloud Compute Stick directly to customers, though Black said it was intended as a channel product.
