Vendor Citrix has launched its Presentation Server 4.5 and claimed the release will enable partners to upgrade existing customers and encourage new users to adopt Citrix.
Presentation Server 4.5 is designed to make it easier and more cost effective to deliver Windows-based applications to users, according to Citrix.
The new release is part of the Citrix Presentation Server product line and has new capabilities such as on-demand application streaming, centralised application provisioning, end-user experience monitoring, enhanced single sign-on and advanced graphics acceleration.
Dean Vaughan, channel manager of Citrix A/NZ, said the Presentation Server 4.5 opens up new markets for Citrix’s partners.
“It is within the interest of our customers to upgrade and that enables our partners to gain additional revenue,” said Vaughan.
“Moving forward this is a significant upgrade for us, so there are no more in the near future, but moving foward upgrades are part of our product roadmap and are driven by customer demand.”
Vaughan added on the 13 and 14 March Citrix will have 300 delegates attending a Sydney-based partner event.
Bruce McCurdy, chief executive officer of Citrix partner Clariti, said the new release is one of the biggest from Citrix in recent times.
“4.5 is going to be a huge opportunity for Citrix partners with existing customer upgrades. The new features should also assist in gaining customers which have been holding off adopting Citrix,” added McCurdy.
