Polycom has appointed former Citrix director Shirish Joshi as its channel sales director for APAC.
He succeeds Dean Cunningham, who left Polycom in November to take up the APAC channel sales director role at Brocade.
Joshi spent nearly three years at Citrix, most recently as its channels and alliances director for the ASEAN region.
He also held various positions at Cisco for over 15 years, including six years as channel director.
“Shirish joined Polycom to take on a different challenge, which includes developing partner opportunities and overseeing a larger territory and new markets in APAC,” according to a statement by Polycom.
Joshi said: “Strong partnerships are a pillar of every channel-led business, and we will bring renewed focus to enabling our partners to develop new opportunities through competitive differentiation."
Polycom Asia Pacific president Geoff Thomas said that building a world-class channel is a key priority. “With his many years of managing partner relationships and significant experience in developing business plans and strategy, I am delighted that Shirish has joined us to accelerate our channel initiatives in APAC."
Joshi will be based in the Singapore office, reporting directly to Geoff Thomas.
