Cisco teases 'radical' changes to partner program

Cisco has teased a “radically redesigned and simplified” Cloud & Managed Services Program (CMSP).

The tweaks will offer more opportunities for partners to expand their managed services practices, particularly in the commercial and SME markets, according to a blog post from Grace Lo, director of Cisco’s worldwide partner organisation.

Among the changes are simplified requirements for partners to join the program at the ‘Express’ tier, allowing partners of all sizes to join. All partners need to qualify is at least one managed service based on Cisco technology, whether it’s Meraki, Security or EN. Partners can also sign up online without the need for an onsite audit.

The Express tier also includes “simplified pricing” and “other benefits,” to be revealed in a September 18 (US time) webinar.

The post also says partners can qualify for market development funds for Cisco Powered offers, the vendor's portfolio of enterprise cloud solutions.

The vendor has also merged its Meraki MSP Select partners into the CMSP program, as well as expanded its portfolio to include more Meraki-focused Cisco Powered services. Meraki partners can qualify for simplified pricing discounts that stack with other program discounts.

The partner program update webinar takes place on 18 September here - which is helpfully at 1AM AEST on Thursday the 19th here in Australia.
