Former Datacom Systems ACT director Lisa Thorburn will lead Cirrus Networks' first office outside Western Australia when it opens in Canberra on 2 May.
Cirrus managing director Frank Richmond said Canberra presents new opportunities and Cirrus' solutions align with the Australia government's focus on innovation.
The announcement follows the $1.2 million worth of VMware contracts that includes a "state government agency" as previously reported.
Thorburn joins Cirrus as general manager for the Canberra office. She has more than 20 years' experience in ICT and business intelligence market within government, according to Cirrus.
She was Datacom Systems ACT director for six years. Prior to joining Datacom, Thorburn worked for CA Technologies' federal region, SAS and Cognos. She is also director of the ACT Brumbies Super Rugby Franchise.
Richmond said: "Lisa's strong focus on recruiting and retaining quality staff along with her passion to drive great customer outcomes through strong relationships are closely aligned with Cirrus brand and goals."
Cirrus was No. 3 in the 2015 CRN Fast50 registering revenue growth of 154 percent to $14.9 million.
