CenturyLink has parted ways with its regional director for Australia and New Zealand Stuart Mills have parted ways nearly three years after he joined the company.
Mills joined CenturyLink in April 2015, a year before the cloud vendor established its Australian presence. Mills confirmed to CRN that he was no longer with CenturyLink, but declined to comment further on his departure.
CRN understands another senior CenturyLink staff member, solutions architect Dimitry Linetsky, also resigned. He has since joined Macquarie Telecom.
CenturyLink is typically known as a telecommunications carrier in the US, though the company sells its global communications, hosting, cloud and IT services in Australia out of NextDC's data centres.
In 2016, CenturyLink acquired telco and ISP Level 3 Communications for US$34 billion, making it one of the largest carriers in the US.
CenturyLink established a local presence in April 2016, signing a distribution partnership with Tech Data, which was still Avnet at the time. Some of its early reseller partners included Somerville, Blue Central, CertaOne, Offis, Regal IT, Oper8 and Astron.
Data#3 announced a partnership with CenturyLink in October to offer enterprise cloud solutions.
A CenturyLink spokesperson declined to comment on a potential replacement for Mills, but reconfirmed that Australia would be a significant focus in Asia-Pacific.
"We remain committed to delivering the best customer experience in the industry and are excited to continue serving Australia-based customers with our comprehensive portfolio of network and IT solutions as they embark on their digital transformation initiatives."
The spokesperson added that the CenturyLink's headcount in Melbourne has grown as a result of the Level 3 acquisition closing. CenturyLink also has a presence in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, and China.
