Capgemini and SAP to partner on GenAI

Business and technology transformation consultants Capgemini said it has joined forces with enterprise software giant SAP, to collaborate on generative artificial intelligence (GenAI).

The partnership with SAP is to help organisations address business critical challenges, through the implementation of GenAI technology across human resources, sales, procurement and sustainaibility, as well as key processes.

As part of the collaboration, Capgemini will combine its leadership in data and AI, as well as its expertise in large scale SAP transformations. This will be done with SAP's Business AI portfolio that's based on the enterprise software vendor's Business Technology Platform.

The partnership extension will expand its Global SAP Centre of Excellence with three key dimensions to realise business value.

These include augmenting business processes using AI and GenAI, with customised, industry specific use cases to enhance end-user productivity, and to improve speed and quality of decision making.

The digital transformation consultancy is also intending to incorporate GenAI accelerators throughout project lifecycles in the delivery of large SAP transformations, for greater efficiency and faster time-to-market.

Some 20,000 employees will be upskilled by the first half of next year, Capgemini said. Its SAP practitioners will be trained on the enterprise software vendor's generative AI methods and tools, to strengthen their skillsets.

Capgemini has been active with its Australian operations lately, having put in an offer for product design and development consultancy D+I in June this year. The France-based multinational also grew its role in the federal Aged Care digital transformation to $83.3 million, primarily for implementing Salesforce services.
