Canon will join as the distributor’s leading brand name in Ingram’s digital imaging stable, said Ingram Micro Consumer Home and Office Solutions (CHOS) Division’s business manager, Jacqueline Bergin.
Launched in February, the new CHOS division provides resellers with a source of knowledge and expertise on integrated Consumer Home and Office Solutions, she said.
Canon's comprehensive product line of digital video cameras, digital compact and SLR cameras and accessories will further reinforce the overall CHOS offering.
“We are excited to be able to offer a brand as strong as Canon and delighted to be able to provide some of the most leading technology from one of the leaders in the Digital Imaging Industry,” she said.
“Because of the rapid development in digital technology, new products are arriving more quickly that do more, are easier to use, and are available at lower prices, driving demand for digital devices from Australian consumers.” Bergin said.
Canon’s range of products will be available through Ingram Micro from 1 May 2008, said Bergin.
Based on the yearly increases experienced over the last four years Canon predict Australians will spend over $6 billion on digital devices in 2008 despite a softening economy, she claimed.
