Canberra-based IT provider Citadel Group has been awarded technology contracts with Monash University and the Australian Department of Defence that could be worth more than $50 million.
In a statement to the ASX, publicly listed Citadel stated that it had entered into a technical service agreement with Monash University, which will cover the design, installation and ongoing maintenance of audio visual and video conferencing technology in lecture theatres and meeting rooms.
The contract with Monash, estimated to be worth $8-$10 million per year, will run for an initial three-year agreement with an extension option of two years.
Citadel executive director Mark McConnell told CRN: “The current technologies that we will be using in Monash University are video conferencing, audio visual presentation and collaboration and control systems. These range from small interactive meeting spaces right through to large auditoriums and conference centres.”
He said the brands would comprise a mix of Crestron, Smart Technologies, Sony, NEC, Shure Lectern Hub, Cisco, Powersoft, EAW, Ampetronic, ClearOne, Extron, Wolfvision, UltraLift and Dell.
Citadel also bagged several secure content and collaboration contracts with the Department of Defence, worth around $8 million throughout the balance of FY16 with additional projects likely to follow in FY17.
Monash University is a member of Group of Eight (G8) Australian Universities and a premium tertiary education provider. It services the needs of students on a direct and virtual basis, both domestically and around the globe via its distributed campus platform model.
Citadel is a 250-staff nationwide company with a $200 million market capitalisation. Its clients includes government agencies and blue chip private businesses.
