CA has issued an update to its enterprise mainframe platform.
The company said that the latest additions to its 'Mainframe 2.0' line would target management and maintenance of mainframe systems.
CA said that the pack of releases would include software updates as well as the introduction of management tools and services aimed at automating tasks for IT departments.
"Despite increasing workloads, IT decision-makers need to squeeze more value from their mainframes and address head-on the looming mainframe skills shortage that our global customers are facing,” said Dayton Semerjian, CA corporate senior vice president and general manager for mainframe business.
Headlining the new releases is an update to the company's Mainframe Software Manager and mainframe software stack lines. The updates address security flaws and automate multiple tasks.
Additionally, CA has posted updates for 16 of its mainframe software utilities as well as new 'health check' maintenance tools to test system configurations.
The company believes that the updates will allow IT departments to better manage existing mainframe systems.
