CA Technologies has lured former Hewlett-Packard and Telstra executive Janice Cox to lead the Australian and New Zealand businesses as vice president and managing director, effective immediately.

Cox replaces former managing director Paul Falkenstein, who will retire after 20 years with the software vendor and a year in the managing director role.

She joined HP in 2002 as part of the merger with Compaq and was appointed to the role of vice president and general manager of the personal systems group in 2008. After leaving HP in 2012, she joined Telstra as director of the managed customer segment, responsible for managing the telco's 12,000 business customers.

In her new role at CA, Cox will be responsible for driving sales, the partner ecosystem, developing new business and managing operations, and will report to Asia-Pacific and Japan president and general manager Martin Mackay.

“ANZ is an important market for CA," Mackay said. "Therefore, it was essential we found the right candidate to continue delivering value to our customers and driving the business in ANZ.  I firmly believe Janice’s business acumen, market knowledge and experience leading teams to achieve sales, revenue and customer satisfaction targets make her the perfect fit for our team.”

Mackay also thanked Falkenstein for his 20 years with CA. "During this time, he has been instrumental to the success of the business having held numerous regional-level roles as well as area management roles leading both our Japanese and Australian businesses," Mackay said.

"While I know there is a tropical island calling his name, I appreciate Paul’s commitment to our ANZ employees, partners and customers as he works with Janice to ensure a smooth transition for all.”
