BlueSky calls in administrators
The Sydney-based distributor has been in the IT industry for 29 years.

Some of its vendor partners include; Reflex Security; Array Network's; Enterasys Dragon; Broadweb's; SaveWare; and SCO Group.

In an interview with CRN Christo Simeonoff, managing director at BlueSky said when Secure Computer dropped it as a distributor, it had no choice but to call in the administrators.

“We had some big orders for the vendor’s products due in August and September – they were well over $1.5 million,” he said.

“Some resellers and end users found out about the termination of the distribution agreement and those large orders were at risk.”

“To put a safety in place I put the company into voluntary administration.”

According to Simeonoff, the security vendor gave no indication as to why BlueSky was dropped.

“There have been no reasons forth coming from the vendor,” he claimed.

“Resellers and their customers are also a bit perplexed, especially since we had significant sales in the pipeline.”

Simeonoff said there were options available for the distributor.

He claimed there were a number of organisations interested in purchasing the business and its 10 employees.

“We are continuing to trade and we now have Woodgate and Co. as our administrators,” said Simeonoff.

He believes there might be more Australian distributors falling by the wayside, as US vendors try to claw back channel margins.
