BlueCat announces virtual appliances for IPAM, DNS & DHCP

The appliances allow customers to consolidate core network services in the datacentre and branch office to reduce energy costs and save money.

"We are thrilled by this announcement from BlueCat Networks," said Tom Piotrowski, managing director of Unixpac.

"BlueCat Networks offers true enterprise-class IP address management platforms in the form of proven, secure, reliable and scalable network appliances and making them now available on Virtual Server platform in form of the virtual appliances will change the game dramatically."

Developed for organisations that have implemented a virtual infrastructure, the appliances enhance IPAM and DNS/DHCP functionality.

Organisations will be able to provision DNS/DHCP for capacity handling and relocate DNS/DHCP services from one server to another for disaster recovery support without having to install additional physical systems.

BlueCat's solutions integrate with Microsoft Active Directory to eliminate network accessibility problems to centrally deploy, manage, monitor and audit IP addresses across an entire organisation from a single web-based interface.
