The Blue Mountains City Council (BMCC) is seeking an IT partner to implement a mobile vision system for domestic waste collections.
Located just west of Sydney, the BMCC municipal area covers around 140,377 hectares and is home to around 76,000 residents across 28 towns and townships.
In a request for tender published on 5 March 2024, the council said the mobile vision system will consist of cameras and screen technology implemented into its 14 waste collection vehicles and a software system for data management and reporting.
The successful partner will need to supply and install a system that can capture, store and send images from vehicles and digitise optimal routes to a map that can be loaded by multiple users.
It must also track driver breaks, provide alerts to drivers and record the BMCC's road network and infrastructure for future reporting.
The partner will need to supply and install hardware that is transferrable to new vehicles and cameras capable of capturing images in 360 degrees around the vehicle with live recording.
The system is to be fully managed and maintained by the partner, who must provide user training and on-going support post implementation.
It is preferable that the partner is ISO 27001: Information Security Management Systems compliant.
The request for tender will close on 27 March 2024.
