Avnet to distribute full HP networking range

Avnet has announced an agreement to distribute the full range of HP Networking products in Australia and Singapore.

The announcement confirmed rumours that Ingram Micro had lost the exclusive distribution of HP's ProCurve networking range, as CRN reported in April.

In the Asia Pacific Avnet and HP have relationships in Australia, Singapore, India, Vietnam and Indonesia built around HP's Enterprise Servers Storage & Networking division (ESSN).

KP Tang, president at Avnet Technology Solutions Asia Pacific, said the announcement "gives us a strategic partner in the enterprise networks and IT infrastructure solutions provider space".

Paul Robson, vice president and general manager at HP Networking Asia Pacific and Japan, said, "HP's unique integrated networking portfolio together with Avnet's growing reach in Asia Pacific will ensure that customers have innovative technologies."

Gavin Lawless, general manager of Avnet Technology Solutions Australia, said, "The Australian team will work closely with the HP team to ensure we are accelerating the success of our channel partners when putting together... solutions.

"As a leading solutions distributor we can now offer our channel partners the complete HP value proposition," he said.
