CCNA has deployed an Avaya IP telephone platform at Chi-X, a small operator that offers a rival market to the Australian Securities Exchange turning over as much as $1 billion a day.
The 20-person Sydney office of Chi-X turned to CCNA to replace its Cisco system with Avaya's IP Office platform; the client was so happy it is now deploying the system in Japan and Hong Kong.
Avaya resellers in the Asia Pacific region have been looking to CCNA for advice, said CCNA’s operations director Craig Sims, saying the firm has a close relationship with resellers across the region.
CCNA replaced a “legacy-style” VoiP desktop phone system, which had limited access to information when staff were outside the office, according to Avaya. Key was the ability for staff to access company systems via their phones, whether they be Android phones or Apple iPads.
The timeline for the rollout was tight, said Sims, adding that the company was helped by the work it had done for financial institutions in the past.
Chi-X Global's stakeholders include JP Morgan, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. The company's Australian business began operating in 2011.
CCNA become the third Avaya platinum partner in Australia this year, joining Telstra and Optus.
