Nortel partners joining Avaya will be fast-tracked with programs and incentives to enable them to deliver Avaya's innovative unified communications and contact centre products to small, medium and large businesses.
The initiative comes off the back of the vendor's recent release of Avaya Aura, a unified communications architecture.
John Dilullo, president at Avaya Asia Pacific said the company is stepping up implementation of a high-touch channel-centric strategy that will increasingly grow its business through indirect sales.
"For Nortel's channel partners, it's [an] opportunity to add the Avaya product line, including the Avaya Aura platform," he said.
"Avaya is investing heavily in unified communications and contact centre technologies.
"Establishing alliances with Avaya now, offers Nortel's partners a chance to make their business ready and it also ensures their traditional customers have access to our market leading solutions."
Globally, more than 120 former Nortel and Siemens channel partners have joined the Avaya Business Partner program since the beginning of the year, he said.
The Avaya Business Partner program currently encompasses around 16,000 companies worldwide.
Avaya wasn't available for comment at the time of going to press.
