The Australian Cyber Network (ACN) has called for Australian cyber security providers to complete the Australian Cyber Network State of the Industry survey, which will inform its first flagship report about the industry.
The report, titled State of the Industry 2024, will be published in April 2025.
Completing the survey, which is open till January 10, 2025, will inform the report, the ACN’s work program and its representation to government, said ACN co-founder and CEO Linda Cavanagh in a post on LinkedIn.
She asked CEOs, founders or other C-suites of cyber security companies to complete the survey to help create a “single source of truth for the Australian cyber industry”.
ACN wants responses to form part of a de-identified dataset that will inform ACN’s advocacy and support development of accurate data to support government decision making.
Survey respondents enter a draw to win one of five free ACN business advisory sessions.
Established in October and formerly known as AusCyber, the not-for-profit Australian Cyber Network aims to act as “a bridge between Australian industry and global cyber security initiatives, to ensure that the country plays a leading role in shaping international cyber standards and solutions”, ACN co-founder and chair Jason Murrell said in October.
This includes maturing the industry, shaping policy, and supporting small and medium-sized businesses in defending against cyber threats.
Cavanagh has previously stressed the importance of having "a voice for industry, by industry" to drive the future of cybersecurity in Australia.
Its launch in October took place at Parliament House in Canberra. This was followed by a roadshow, where ACN met with businesses and government, and industry bodies.
The roadshow included an event at the Australian Computer Society (ACS) offices in Barangaroo, roundtable discussion with TasICT, ACS, University of Tasmania and TasTAFE on the challenges in Tasmania's cyber security sector, a Brisbane event hosted by AUCyber and a Tesserent-hosted event in Melbourne.
