Founded in 1969, ISACA develops international standards for information systems auditing and control, provides education and training, and administers the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) designations.
Additionally, ISACA publishes COBIT-the internationally accepted framework for IT governance best practices-and Val IT, a tool set for unlocking the value of IT and managing IT-enabled business change.
Lucas also assumes the role of trustee of the IT Governance Institute ISACA's research affiliate established in 1998 to help enterprise leaders ensure that IT supports the enterprise's mission and goals.
Emil D'Angelo, international president of ISACA and the IT Governance Institute said ISACA has embarked on a strategy to further the organisation.
Lucas has experience in internal and external IT audit and has also worked in various capacities in the IT field.
She was a senior director of IT audit with the Australian National Audit Office before moving into audit and risk management in the telecommunications sector.
In her current role, her focus is on IT investment management and governance.
