Aussie firms queue up for new social software tool

Software developer Livefyre has entered the Australian market with 15 high-profile customers.

The company, which develops a real-time social curation platform, entered the Australian market with the opening of an office in Sydney.

More than 15 broadcasters and digital publishers in Australia will work with Livefyre, including Shine Australia, SBS, News Corp Australia, News.com.au, Herald Sun, Fox Sports Australia, The Australian, Perth Now, Courier Mail, Adelaide Now, The Daily Telegraph, ProjectARk.tv and The Voice.

Founder and chief executive Jordan Kretchmer said: "Australia is an important market for Livefyre as we look to bring social experiences to the APAC region. We look forward to expanding beyond Australian media and publishing to help brands leverage similar tactics in their marketing and advertising programs."

Livefyre was founded in 2009 and has offices in San Francisco, New York and London.
