ATO names IT labour suppliers for newly combined panel

The Australian Taxation Office has named a list of 15 suppliers to its newly created panel that can provide IT labour hired to the federal government.

The new Provision of Contingent Labour Hire (IT and General) Services Panel consists of three categories, the third being for IT, digital and data management personnel. The other two categories cover customer service, corporate management and administration, and tax, accounting, law and finance.

As part of the new panel, all federal departments can procure IT labour for anything from data analysis, development, helpdesk, security, systems admin and testing.

It replaces two separate panels, the contingent labour hire and IT labour hire panels which have been combined to streamline processes and improve supplier relationships. The IT labour hire panel ran from June 2015 to 2018 and in that time, more than 800 contracts were awarded to its participants.

The ATO said the objective of the new panel was to holistically manage its contingent labour hire needs, improve flexibility, streamline processes and reduce the time of hiring across all categories and roles.

This panel will provide more opportunities for our employees, consultants and contractors, not just in the traditional federal ICT market in the ACT, but nationally.
