The Eee Pad EP121 has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a 12-inch touchscreen and is preloaded with the Vole's Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. It is designed for Internet access, watching videos and other multimedia uses, computing and as an e-reader.
Asus claims it has a 10-hour battery life. There is an on-screen keyboard or an Eee Pad dock with a keyboard.
Asustek is touting another 10-inch touchscreen tablet loaded with Microsoft's Windows Embedded Compact 7 software. The device is 12.2-millimeters thick and weighs 675g. The Eee Tablet is designed for digital note-taking in addition to reading e-books. Asustek said that the unit is supposed to be an educational tool.
For this reason it has put a 2-megapixel camera onboard so students can take pictures of lecture slides, and the device can sync to a laptop or desktop via a USB port or by using Micro SD cards. Students can use the stylus for digital note-taking on the device's touchscreen.
There's no word on price or release dates for any of these devices yet.
