Melbourne-based Crunch IT has been acquired by another Melbourne managed services provider Asta, bringing Apple and Microsoft enterprise services under the same roof.
After six months in the making, Asta says the acquisition made the combined company "one of the only cross-platform managed IT service providers in the country".
Founded in 2005, Crunch IT specialises in Apple enterprise support services and integration in Microsoft business environments. The company also offers strategic IT planning services, risk management and networking services. Crunch IT has a presence in Sydney and Melbourne.
Asta is Microsoft partner based in Melbourne, offering managed services, cloud, business consulting, mobile app development and web and software development.
Asta chief executive Bill Angelidis said the acquisition allowed Asta to expand its end-to-end services into Sydney and provide new opportunities to its 85 staff.
"The shift to consumer driven end-user computing and BYOD has seen Apple devices enter the corporate environment in significant numbers and will continue to grow," said Angelidis.
"Asta is responding to this shift to deliver cross platform managed services, web and mobile application development and support".
Crunch IT managing director Mark Williams said he would be in-and-out of the day-to-day operations of the business, but looks forward to watching the business grow under Angelidis' leadership.
“After months of discussion, we agreed there was a need to form a single source for all of our clients’ IT support needs, Asta will now be able to meet all of the enterprise support IT needs,” Williams said.
