ASG scores $24m federal managed services deal

IT service provider ASG has signed a deal worth up to $23.8 million with the federal Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development.

ASG announced that it would deliver "infrastructure services, desktop services and end-to-end service management across the department's ICT environment" in a five-year deal with options for another three years.

The ASX-listed company had already been providing managed services to the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development for more than seven years.

"This contract… solidifies our position as a premier provider of desktop and infrastructure services for the federal government," said ASG chief executive Geoff Lewis.

ASG said the latest deal is an example of the company's "managed service business model", which locks in an annuity revenue base for five or more years.

The Perth-headquartered ASG is consistently in the headlines for its government sector work, such as a $10 million deal with Victoria's Department of Education and Training earlier this month and a $18 million agreement with the federal Department of Communications.

For the year ending 30 June, ASG reported a small increase in both revenue ($162.7 million) and net profit ($9.5 million).
