SecOps vendor Arctic Wolf, has made its Cyber JumpStart Portal freely available, aiming to improve cybersecurity readiness and insurability for businesses of all sizes.

The portal, initially launched in 2023 for insurance carriers and brokers' clients, now offers a comprehensive suite of cyber risk management tools to a broader audience.

This move comes as businesses worldwide struggle with cyber insurance qualification.

Analyst firm Forrester estimated that only 26 per cent of companies have standalone cyber insurance policies.

"Based on the positive feedback and growing interest in the program, we are expanding access to businesses of almost any size, inviting organisations to take the first step of their security journey to increase insurability and enhance risk management outcomes," Dan Schiappa, chief product and services officer at Arctic Wolf, said.

The Cyber JumpStart Portal offers several key features:

  • Cyber Resilience Assessment Lite allows businesses to map their security posture against industry-standard frameworks like NIST CSF and CIS Critical Security Controls.
  • Arctic Wolf Insurability Rating provides an integrated cyber insurance rating to improve insurability and simplify qualification and renewals.
  • Incident Response Planner Lite enables easy collection of critical information needed for incident response engagements, a common requirement for cyber insurance.
  • JumpStart Guides offer security resources and expertise on implementing security controls required for cyber insurance.

Powered by Arctic Wolf's Security Operations Cloud and informed by their Concierge Security Team, the portal aims to help businesses review their security posture, identify gaps, and improve their ability to reduce cyber risk.

Arctic Wolf's free tools can be used by partners to provide added value to their clients, particularly small and medium-sized businesses that may struggle with cybersecurity readiness and insurability.

Partners can use this tool to initiate discussions about cybersecurity posture and incident response planning with both prospective and existing customers.
