Apple recruits for fourth Sydney store

Apple is recruiting for what appears to be the iPad maker's fourth company-owned Apple shop in Sydney.

Positions advertised on its website included a business manager for a "new store" in Castle Towers. 

Castle Towers in Castle Hill is the shopping centre hub for Sydney's north-west residents, which was about 24 kilometres from the central business district.

Until it opens, the closest Apple Store is about 18 kilometres away in Chatswood Chase.

Apple declined to comment on an opening date; Castle Towers centre management said it didn't have a "definite date".

Participants on the MacTalk forum said the launch could coincide with Apple's 30 July iPhone 4.0 launch in Australia.

When opened, the Castle Towers outlet will compete with Apple premium reseller Next Byte; both are on level 4 of the centre.

Next Byte's spokesman said it saw Apple's entry as a "great opportunity for growth in Australia and we can only benefit from more people using Apple". 

Next Byte shut its Baulkham Hills shop in the next suburb from Castle Hill earlier this year.   

Apple Store Castle Towers will be Apple's ninth in Australia.
