Chris Spence has exited Dicker Data after less than a year in the job, hot on the heels of former Express Data sales director David Peach, who departed in October.
Spence told CRN it was "a mutual departure". He joined the distributor in February 2014 as general manager of sales, having previously served as HP's channel manager.
"I have delivered on my objectives, which were to drive the integration of the two organisations; to put a strategy in place to address our partners; to drive a partner-first focus; and to deliver sales excellence.
"I have ticked those boxes and now it is time to move onto my next career step or objective."
Spence was hired under former Dicker Data commercial director Chris Price, who made a shock exit in September, replaced by Vlad Mitnovetski.
Spence conceded that "Vlad's vision is absolutely different to Chris Price's vision".
The distributor's founder, David Dicker, said: "Chris Price hired him [Spence] and we are structuring things different going forward and he didn't quite fit into the way Vlad sees things going forward."
Dicker said Spence was the "casualty of a restructure rather than 'firing a guy'."
David Peach's departure in October was always planned, following the integration of Express Data. "When ED was acquired by Dicker Data on 1 April 2014, I was tasked with leading the existing ED business until such time that it was integrated into the Dicker Data business. That took place in September, and I departed by mutual agreement on October 17 2014," Peach told CRN.
Allison McQuarrie, ED's former director of operations, people & culture, also left Dicker Data in October as part of the integration plan.
The restructure is rounded out with the addition of Dicker's new general manager of sales, cloud and vendor alliances, Yasser Elgammal, who moves across from his role as country manager of SanDisk.
Elgammal, who has also held senior roles at VMware and APC by Schneider Electric, "will be proactively developing Dicker Data’s cloud strategy in close partnership with our key vendors and will take operational responsibility for the national sales team", according to a statement from the company.
Dicker Data has been a noticeable absence among disties in announcing a cloud strategy. CRN recently revealed Ingram Micro's plans, which followed a bevy of launches from Westcon, Avnet, Distribution Central and Nextgen Distribution.
Dicker has been riding the highs and lows in recent months, pulling in an average of $100 million a month in the first six months since the merger with Express Data, but also losing out to Westcon in its bid for the NetApp account.
