Another former BlueJeans channel figure joins ELB
James Brennan

Sydney-based integrated communications specialist ELB has hired a second former BlueJeans Network channel figure in as many months, by luring James Brennan.

Brennan joined BlueJeans as managing director for Asia-Pacific in 2016 before joining enterprise video platform startup Kaltura as a senior director in February 2018. Prior to that, Brennan worked for Polycom in Australia and the US for more than a decade.

In his new role, Brennan will lead ELB’s team that targets the education market, to enable it to deliver the vendor’s ‘plug and play’ solutions. Brennan was also appointed as ELB’s NSW state manager.

ELB was founded in Sydney in 1986 as a distributor for electronic whiteboards and has since opened offices in North America and changed its name from Electroboard Solutions to reflect the expansion into collaboration solutions.

Brennan’s appointment follows from last month’s hiring of former BlueJeans channel chief Mario Hilmi as general manager, sales and marketing. Hilmi also leads ELB’s new leadership team which includes CFO Sean Hooper and head of marketing Sharonika Camplin.

“Just like corporate customers, who are transforming their workspaces to meet the expectations of current and future employees, educational institutions need to cater for growing student demands for flexible learning married with meeting the goals for student retention rates and keeping up with professional teacher training,” said Hilmi. “These are areas James is extremely knowledgeable about and we’re delighted to have such an experienced leader with us.”

Brennan noted that he’s worked with ELB during his time at Polycom to deliver one of the world's largest video conferencing infrastructure deployments in NSW schools.

“I know the technical capabilities and long history ELB has in transforming education and the professional support the business provides to teaching staff across Australian schools. ELB has a clear strategic plan and future vision and I’m very excited to be onboard," Brennan said.
