Amcom has ousted Optus and Telstra from SA Health by scoring a single-supplier deal worth $12.9 million to deliver data and network services across the state for three years.
An SA Health spokesperson told CRN that the previous contract was across multiple vendors, including Optus, Telstra and Amcom. "The new contract is single source of carriage services.”
The win comes just months into Amcom's merger with Vocus Communications. Amcom is on the South Australian Government Network Carriage Services panel to supply data network and unified communications across the state.
Vocus chief executive James Spenceley said: “With a number of projects already on the go in both WA and the NT, the new deal in South Australia, which spans all SA Health services across the state, will continue to build our experience and expertise in the government sector.”
The contract between Amcom and SA Health is initially in place for three years, with two, three-year options.
“The contract with SA Health is just the beginning. We look forward to working with more South Australian government agencies to help them to deliver strong returns on their ICT investment and accelerate their future roadmaps,” added Spenceley.
