Altech Computers will move its Adelaide warehouse operations to Sydney.
It comes just a month after the distributor's managing director, Antony Sheen, confirmed Altech’s Brisbane and Melbourne warehouse operations were also being moved to Sydney.
South Australian customers will now be supplied from Altech’s central Sydney warehouse, said Sheen.
Altech’s Melbourne and Brisbane warehouses are also expected to close in early 2016. Sheen added that Perth operations would not change for now.
Sheen said the Adelaide office previously employed three people, and is now staffed with one sales manager. One warehouse staff person was made redundant, while Altech’s Adelaide branch manager has left to pursue other opportunities.
Altech recently relocated its Sydney warehouse to a new location in Olympic Park.
Sheen said relocating Altech’s warehouse operations to the new Sydney headquarters would give customers access to more stock, as well as optimise expenses by cutting down on the costs of double-handling.
