Adobe ANZ CEO Chris Skelton quits

Adobe ANZ managing director Chris Skelton will leave the company after more than three years in the top role.

Skelton joined Adobe in April 2012 as director of digital media for Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia, and was promoted to ANZ managing director in July 2014. Prior to that, he was regional director for the ANZ arm of global reseller Insight. He has also held senior director soles at Unisys and SAP.

Adobe did not provide a reason for Skelton's departure, other than to say he had decided to leave the company.

Adobe Asia Pacific president Paul Robson thanked Skelton for his service to the software vendor.

“Our ANZ business has enjoyed significant growth and maturity under Chris’ leadership, and has a committed team in place focused on expanding our market leadership as well as delivering the best experiences for our customers. We are thankful to Chris for his significant contributions and wish him all the best,” Robson said.

Skelton will be replaced by Suzanne Steele, former managing director of business data, analytics and marketing services provider Experian. She joined Experian in London in 2012 and has been ANZ managing director for the past two years. She has also held senior positions with Visa Europe, CACI London and Morgan Stanely.

Steele begins at Adobe in late November and will report directly to Robson.

“I am absolutely delighted to be joining the Adobe team, I am energized by the momentum in the business and the opportunity that is before us in this market," Steele said.

"I look forward to working alongside our customers and our people to deliver exceptional outcomes and expand our market position.”

Commenting on Steele's appointment, Robson said: “Suzanne brings extensive experience to our committed team; she is a customer-centric leader who understands the importance of client relationships to competitive differentiation and growth.”

Experian has already announced a replacement for Steele. Current managing director of the data quality and targeting business and 15-year company veteran Andrew Black will take over as managing director for the entire business.
