Acusensus signs $1.7m Victorian road safety camera test agreement

Acusensus Australia, a wholly owned subsidiary of road safety technology company Acusensus, has signed an agreement with the State of Victoria to design, supply, install and commission road safety camera systems at two nominated test sites along a Victorian freeway.

The deal, struck with the Department of Justice and Community Safety, covers infrastructure to support testing of Acusensus's AI-enabled equipment for both instantaneous and average speed enforcement. The sites are for testing purposes only and will not issue infringements.

The contract has an initial two-year term valued at approximately $1.7 million, with the majority of that figure relating to supply and installation costs.

The State holds options to extend on up to four further occasions of up to two years each, representing a potential total term of up to 10 years. Systems are expected to be installed by mid-2027.

Around six weeks ago, Acusensus received contract extensions from both the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads and Transport for New South Wales.
