AC3 acquires JDS Australia

AC3 has acquired Melbourne-headquartered JDS Australia, Splunk's 2024 Regional Partner of the Year for Asia Pacific.

JDS Australia was established in 2003 and provides IT monitoring, security, service management, quality assurance and automation. It has about 100 people and a physical presence in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The combined businesses will employ almost 500 people in Australia and New Zealand with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland and Wellington.

"Both companies are remarkably similar," stated AC3 CEO Simon Xistouris in an announcement about the acquisition.

"We are both privately owned and operated, with over 25 years of experience. Our shared commitment to staying local and offering secure, sovereign capabilities with exclusively onshore resources across Australia and New Zealand is a cornerstone of our operations.”

Both companies have a similar customer base, with “strong expertise” in the public sector and other highly regulated industries, Xistouris stated.

JDS Australia’s customer projects include delivering a Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) solution for Transurban.

In 2023, JDS Australia announced it was the first Australian owned Cisco partner to achieve the Cisco Full Stack Observability Solution Specialisation.

JDS is also a ServiceNow Elite partner and an Atlassian Gold Solution Partner.

JDS Managing Director John Bearsley stated: “Our combined resources and shared vision will create significant opportunities for growth and development for our people, as well as provide our customers access to leading cloud services that complement JDS’s offerings.”

AC3 recently celebrated its 25-year anniversary.
