SAP Australia global partner operations vice president Greg Miller left the company after two years. The position was filled by chief operating officer Jim Fisher.
The software vendor stated that Miller had led the Global Partner Operations unit through “the most successful GPO year in recent history”.
Sitecore alliance director Owen Brandt resigned to join Australian start-up LiveTiles.
At LiveTiles Brandt takes on the newly created role of vice president for Asia-Pacific.
Chris Trevitt resigned from his general manager of channel sales role with EMC after 11 years with the vendor. In 21 March, HPE announced Trevitt as its new channel chief.
Before EMC, Trevitt worked for IBM for seven years.
EMC general manager of telecommunications and service providers Mark Fioretto replaced Trevitt.
SAP Australia appointed Sumal Karu as general manager, global channels and general business. Karu replaced Greg Miller who left earlier in January.
Karu was previously Asia-Pacifc senior vice president for ForgeRock, an identity and access management software vendor.
Commvault hired Mark Velthius as vice president of indirect business, replacing Ashley Diffey who left to join F5 Networks.
Velthius is responsible for Commvault's resellers, managed service providers and vendor alliances. Velthius was the senior director of strategic alliances for EMC in Singapore for almost two years before joining Commvault.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise's channel chief left the company after almost two years. Lewis was the director of indirect sales channel manager for small business and alliances.
HPE country manager for SMB Nicholas Lambrou assumed the position as interim leader before EMC's Chris Trevitt was hired to take on the role.
Oracle appointed Frank Zanotto as the storage channel business development manager for Australia, responsible for identifying new regional partners and grow the company's storage business among end users and private sector organisations.
Zanotto was previously channel and service provider manager for Asia-Pacific and Japan for data virtualisation company Actifio.
VMware appointed Kerrie-Anne Turner as the Australia head of channels and general business, replacing long-term channel chief John Donovan who departed in 2015.
Turner brought over 20 years of experience to the company. She was previously vice president for APAC at StayinFront. During more than 10 years at StayinFront, Turner held various senior roles until she became managing director for Australia and New Zealand.
Dynatrace named Dougal Hawkes as head of alliances and partnerships for Australia and New Zealand.
Hawkes brought more than 20 years of experience to the application performance management vendor.
Lenovo channel manager Fred Viet resigned after 11 years working for the company.
Viet soon joined Microsoft Surface as the channel chief. On 18 May, Viet left Microsoft for personal reasons. Viet will be replaced by Brett Murray, director of mobile device sales, on 1 July.
Simplivity expanded its channel management team and promoted Peter Hill to channel manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Anthony Wright was appointed channel solutions architect after seven years at EMC.
Lenovo hired Margrith Appleby as channel sales director, replacing Fred Viet who resigned after 11 years with the company.
Appleby brought 30 years of channel experience. She was most recently HP's director of commercial channel sales for printing in personal sales.
Darrin Edkins left his channel manager role at Nutanix after 18 months. Edkins joined EMC as manager of mid-market and channel all-flash solutions approximately a month after.
Prior to joining Nutanix, Edkins was enterprise and storage channel development manager for Dell from 2010 to 2014. He worked in various roles for Hewlett-Packard from 2000 to 2008, before taking on the enterprise storage and server partner programs manager role.
Software and cloud services provider Interactive Intelligence named Shayne Taylor the first-ever channel sales manager for Australia.
Shayne will give support to the resellers and will focus on identifying new regional partners to grow the cloud business among public and private sectors.
Former Citrix partner development manager Cath Gentile joined Nimble Storage as senior channel development manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Gentile started her channel career in 1992 at Applied Micro Systems. In 1999, she joined HP as channel manager moving to Singtel Optus in 2001. She then moved to Westcon before joining Citrix.
Former IBM channel manager Sharmilla Gosai was named Verizon's first channel lead for Australia.
Gosai said her goal was to build the most mutually rewarding channel program in the industry. Prior to joining Verizon, she was with IBM for just over a year. Before IBM Gosai held various channel roles with Microsoft during her eight years with the vendor.
MuleSoft hired Zoe Nicholson as channel manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Nicholson has more than 15 years' experience in the IT industry. She was most recently EMC's channel manager for Dimension Data's account in Asia-Pacific and Japan.
George Wilson left his role as channel sales manager at Arrow to join Paessler Australia as the senior sales manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Wilson is responsible for Paessler market strategies, operations and services in the region.
Riverbed named Charles De Jesus the Australia and New Zealand channel director.
De Jesus joined Riverbed in May 2016, according to his LinkedIn page. He had been NetApp channel development manager for almost two years and previously worked for Avaya for three years.
Niall O'Gorman joined Nutanix as channel director for Australia and New Zealand, replacing Darrin Edkins.
O'Gorman is responsible for managing Nutanix's local partnerships including Datacom, Dimension Data and Fujitsu. Prior to Nutanix, he worked for VMware for over four years.
FireEye has promoted Sean Kopelke to director of channel and commercial sales for Australia and new Zealand.
Kopelke will focus on mid-market sales for the network security vendor. He was previously director of global alliances and managed security service providers for Asia-Pacific and Japan. He joined FireEye in 2015 after working for Symantec for eight years.
Ana Travers was named Software AG partner and alliance manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Travers takes on a slightly different role from her predecessor. She will be responsible for changing Software AG into a partner-oriented company.
