Ingram Micro recently held its annual Cure Kids Golf Day at Wainui Golf Course in North Auckland.
The event featured 96 players across the NZ channel and vendor community and ended the day raising just over $42,000 NZD for the charity, including an on‑course auction.
Leon De Suza, Executive MD for Ingram Micro New Zealand, said there are many reasons this day means so much to the company.
"First, it gives us the chance to spend quality time with our partners. Our channel is, at its core, all about people, and we genuinely value the opportunity to connect with our vendors, customers and friends outside of the usual day‑to‑day conversations," he said.
"But even more importantly, the day brings together around 100 partners of all golfing abilities, hacking away for a great cause and rallying behind Cure Kids and the incredible work they do for children across New Zealand. One thing is certain, when it comes to Cure Kids, our channel always comes together.
"While the weather certainly tried its best to dampen the party, it didn’t stop the day from being a huge success. There was no shortage of laughter, smiles and good‑natured banter as teams battled not only the elements, but their own golfing inadequacies.
"At the conclusion of the round, we were fortunate to hear from Cure Kids ambassador Corin Copeland, who shared his deeply personal journey of being born with a rare genetic condition that caused his veins and arteries to grow closed. Hearing Corin speak about the challenges he has faced throughout his life was incredibly humbling and put everything into perspective. Stories like his are a powerful reminder of how fortunate many of us are, and why the work Cure Kids does is so vital.
"To close out the day, I was incredibly proud to announce that, with the generous support of our channel partners, we raised $42,000 for Cure Kids. These funds will go directly towards supporting the life‑changing work they do every day to give New Zealand children and their families the best possible chance at living a full and healthy life.
"A huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part and supported the day. We truly couldn’t do it without you. We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year and hope to see everyone back on the course.”
The event was sponsored by Microsoft, Fortinet, IBM, PB Technologies, Dell, Ubiquiti, HP, Veeam, HPE, Apple, Philips, Aruba, Jabra, Modica, Logitech, Fortis Events and Fabric Brands.
