What's hot in software? We ask Empired
Andy Neumann

What software do you provide?

Empired has been delivering software solutions to government and corporate customers to achieve a number of outcomes: operational efficiency, productivity gains, revenue growth. Our primary software partner is Microsoft.

When did your company first get involved in this area?

We initially started as a platform and infrastructure business in 1999, but over the past three years have organically grown as well as acquired capabilities in the applications, development and business consulting space.

What are your credentials around software development and integration

We participate in the Microsoft partnership network and its associated competencies. We have invested in ITIL V3 and ISO 20000 accreditation for our service management and ISO9001:2008 for quality management in our software development practices.

Who are your main distributors?

As part of Microsoft’s Cloud Solutions Provider program, we can offer software licences. We also work with large distributors of hardware and software including Dicker Data and Ingram Micro.

Have you heard about any cool software trends recently?

We are certainly seeing a lot more use of cloud services, such as Azure, to underpin large custom developments.

Can you tell us about a recent project?

One of our most recent successes is Formplicity, a SaaS offering based around forms and workflow in the cloud. The simplicity of the solution, along with the subscription-based pricing, is helping to shape our future cloud offerings.

What is driving customers’ software projects?

It is still about operational efficiency or taking opportunities for cost optimisation (moving to subscription models). I’m hoping in the near term though we’ll see customers shift to projects focused on growing revenue or delivering competitive advantage through innovation.

Software is…

A great enabler of business solutions.
