Occupational health and safety is of upmost importance in any workplace, especially in the construction industry. From that idea spawned ToolBox, a platform which its creators say can help save lives and cut OHS-related costs.
ToolBox was developed by Enable Labs, the ISV start-up spun out from Sydney-based solutions provider Enable Professional Services.
The app started life as a site management and OH&S tool for the construction industry built on the ServiceNow platform, but that soon expanded to include the entire construction lifestyle.
Enable Labs says that ToolBox can make worksites safer by managing and automating the interactions between people, machinery and other assets all through a mobile application by harnessing machine learning and artificial intelligence.
ToolBox uses ServiceNow's machine learning capabilities to predict and prevent accidents by running large data sets of previous accident causes across the ML engine. It then looks at the conditions when the accident occurred, and can input different conditions to reduce the probability of another accident.
The app features a whole list of other features that cover the construction lifecycle, including: identification of personnel for site check-in, accident reporting, equipment and asset tracking, compliance for reporting on workplace accidents, live reporting, weather forecasting, certification verification, licencing document management and live breach notifications.
Enable Labs sells ToolBox via ServiceNow's store. According to the company, workplace accidents in NSW alone impact the economy by $6 billion each year and has already been adopted by some of the largest organisations in Australia, including a handful of state government departments.
