#7 Enosys Solutions, 2015 CRN Fast50

Enosys makes no secret of its fondness for its largest vendor partner, Palo Alto Networks. In fact, the North Sydney-based IT outfit goes as far as to say it operates as an extension to the information security vendor. The partnership has helped Enosys chalk up back-to-back top 10 appearances in the CRN Fast50, with 108.63 percent growth in 2014, then 105.69 percent in 2015. It became an $8.97 million-company in 2015.

The North Sydney company was founded in 2011 when IBM veterans Joseph Mesiti and George Soumilas joined up with system architect Stefan Hoerzer. They wanted to build a nimble business not caught up in red tape. “We realised the success of customer projects boiled down to a set of individuals, even though you’re working for a behemoth like IBM,” says Mesiti. “We could make the process better by removing the bureaucracy.”

With Palo Alto now firmly established in the market, Enosys continues to sniff out emerging security players. The latest additions include US endpoint security vendor Tanium and network security vendor Tenable. “It’s all about innovation for us,” says Mesiti. “Taking new security vendors to market is core to Enosys.”

Another huge development for Enosys was the launch of its security and network operations centre in June. The new centre allows Enosys to offer a range of managed services from the comfort of its North Sydney office, including next-generation firewall, application delivery controller, web application firewall, intrusion protection system, log management and log analysis. The centre was awarded two new ISO certifications for information security and quality management, a direct response to increased emphasis on ISO certifications among state and federal government customers.

Enosys expects the state-of-the-art centre will help win more government and education customers in the future. “We’ll be taking innovation to those two sectors that have been crying out for the capabilities we bring. We’ve been talking about next-gen firewall for a long time and there’s still a lot of opportunity with that.”

With Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane already ticked off the list, Enosys wants to expand into all of the capital cities, and Mesiti says an Asian expansion is also on the cards.

“We’re four years in and we didn’t have any long-term plan past the first two years. But we’ll continue to chase growth, expand sales and professional service capabilities.”
