Ingram Micro has acquired trans-Tasman distributor Connector Systems for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Sydney and New Zealand, Connector specialises in cabling, networking, wireless, security, storage and backup and voice
Matt Sanderson, managing director of Ingram Micro Australia, said Connector’s 15 vendor partners in Australia will be added to Ingram's portfolio. Some of the best known brands includes Ruckus, Cyberoam and IGEL.
Connector Systems' has a larger list of vendors in New Zealand, and Ingram will also take on all 30 of these, including Allied Telesis, Allot, Aruba, Aspen Optics, Brocade, Calix, Cambium, Molex, SonicWall, Sophos, Yealink, Manage Engine and 2X.
“Connector Systems has been recognised by the channel for its focus on adding value for its customers and helping resellers grow their businesses,” said Sanderson.
“The Connector Systems team is highly talented and well respected in the market and their experience and proven skill set will be an excellent addition to Ingram Micro.”
Ingram stated that Connector will continue to operate as a business unit within Ingram Micro’s Value Division.
Connector was founded in New Zealand in 1979 and branched out into Australia with the acquisition of Techplus in 2012.
The company recently signed up German vendor IGEL Technology to bring its entry-level thin clients to the Australian channel.
