Equinix's facilities in Sydney has completed the build-out of its "SY3" facility in Sydney's Alexandria.
The provider yesterday announced that the US$30 million ($32 million) expansion to the building is now open, adding an extra 1,000 cabinets. The facility now has a total of 3,000 cabinets.
One of the first tenants will be web hosting provider Net Logistics, which offers resellers hosting and cloud Virtual Private Servers. The company has been using Equinix since 2006.
Equinix touts the SY3 facility as the "the most densely connected data centre in Australia", and it is used by the likes of Box as well as Distribution Central, which earlier this year showed off racks it has in a private cage for its CloudPOD services.
Power to the SY3 facility was first switched on in 2011.
NextDC also recently expanded its Sydney data centre with a second hall, as well as adding a new hall in its Melbourne facility.
