Dicker Data and Lenovo part ways

PC vendor Lenovo and distributor Dicker Data have officially parted ways after several months of diwndling activity.

Alan Munro, vice president of Lenovo Australia and New Zealand told CRN that Lenovo chose to part with Dicker as part of a global strategy.

Lenovo globally was looking to "drive deeper partnerships with strategic partners," he said.

Munro said Lenovo will now focus its account management, marketing spend and other resources on remaining distributors Ingram Micro and Synnex, as well as a new program targeting select tier one and tier two resellers.

CRN has been informed that Dicker Data has purchased very little from Lenovo since December 2009.

But Munro said this was not indicative of any disagreement between the two companies.

"I can't talk for Dicker," he said. "It has taken some time to work this thing through.

"We have separated on very amicable terms," he said.
