Competition has heated up in the inaugural CRN Fast50 reseller awards with the confirmation of Melbourne systems integrator and managed-service provider, TLC IT Group.
It recently featured in BRW's Fast 100 and it was voted 42nd in BRW's 50 Best places to work.
TLC's managing director and founder Alan Chapman said CRN's Fast50 was a lot closer to home and their industry.
"I like it for that," he said. "It's a very tight industry we work in. I thought I want to get involved with this quickly."
The Fast50, CRN's premiere awards, recognises the hard work and entrepreneurial success of Australia's best and brightest resellers. The competition opened this month and will run to the end of next month.
Other Victorian resellers that entered the compeition are: Southern Cross Computer Systems in Hawthorn East and Blue Apache in Abbotsford.
Chapman said the reason why Victorians were so well represented was because "maybe we've got more time down here".
Chapman launched TLC IT in July, 2001. It grew from a standing start to an $8 million company with 42 employees.
Chapman has forecasted a further 30 to 40 percent growth this year.
"We've got good people, I've got good people around me to get things done and they're all experts in what they do," he said.
CRN's Fast50 will be the cover story of the December issue.
The CRN Fast50 microsite and magazine will list the channel players at the height of their games, feature interviews with the top resellers and the distributors who backed them.
With a $75,000 prize package up for grabs, the channel's premiere awards list will put together 50 of the fastest growing resellers in the Australian channel.
