How Ingram Micro is making selling Cisco Security solutions easier for MSPs

Staff Writer on

Cyber security is one of the critical challenges of the modern era, and a key commercial opportunity for managed service providers. But the range of cyber threats and possible remedies can be hard to navigate.

Ingram Micro has partnered with Cisco to make selling cyber security services easier through a four-stage program called IM Secure.

According to Ingram Micro’s Cisco Security Program Manager Mark Spencer, the IM Secure service helps MSPs take advantage of the trend of who want to consolidate their security tools portfolio.

“Customers don't want to be managing a massive number of technologies in their environment - it's too hard, and it costs a lot of money,” Spencer said. “There’s a lot of work needed to integrate them, whereas if it's coming from one vendor, it's consolidated and all run from one console.”

IM Secure enables MSPs to take advantage of this trend by ensuring they can easily offer appropriate solutions and transact with Cisco in the smoothest possible way, with greater clarity on pricing and certifications.

“We help them to look at the right products and to build out those services,” Spencer said. “IM Secure is based on a consumption pricing model, so you sell it and deploy it at your client, and then you get billed a month later for only the amount of users that are actually using it.”

The four-stage program takes MSPs through a complete go-to-market strategy, from enrolment and discovery, through to execution and market development.

“It's really doubling down on managed service models and helping partners develop their managed service practice with Cisco,” Spencer said. “With the new Cisco 360 Partner Program that's coming out, this really helps them to get prepared in advance, so the IM secure program actually will develop their security practice.

“IM Secure is designed to build the best practice with our partners so that they can go forward with the most productive, streamlined, managed security service practice. So we're really excited about it.”
