Intel to ship new desktop, laptop chips in August
TOKYO - Intel said on Thursday it plans to start shipping new processors for desktop and laptop computers in August, betting the energy-saving chips would help the world's largest semiconductor maker regain share from rival AMD.

HP recalls 15,700 notebook computer batteries
WASHINGTON - Hewlett-Packard is recalling about 15,700 HP and Compaq notebook computer batteries worldwide for a burn and fire hazard, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday.
