Zoho to fire up AU cloud, double channel

SaaS CRM vendor Zoho will next month flick the switch on an Australia-hosted version of its apps, and use the local service as a springboard to double its Australian channel in terms of partner numbers and revenue.

Zoho only splashed down in Australia in February 2019, but ANZ managing director Timothy Kasbe told CRN the company has 130 partners here already and they’re responsible for a third of its revenue.

He wants to double both in a year.

Kasbe said one way to boost revenue will be to have existing partners sign users to use more of Zoho’s suite. That land-and-expand plan can work when partners work with customers they’ve won themselves, or as Zoho links partners with end-customers who may benefit from niche consultancy.

The MD wants more such partners: he figures industry specialists are a fine way to grow Zoho use, and told CRN he hopes the company’s recruitment drive attracts partners with specialisation in human resources and finance.

The new local presence will also give partners with a government focus a reason to consider Zoho, Kasbe said, while e-commerce specialists are also in the company’s sights.
