Zhao told CRN she accepted the role of corporate sales manager at the end of last month.
Zhao will maintain relationships with the vendor's Australian resellers and retailers.
"I'll be looking after the local channel strategy for LaCie," she said.
"We are developing a number of products for the retail market, which will be due out in Christmas.
She said the vendor's priority will be looking after its resellers and offering after sales support.
Zhao joined LaCie, after a brief stint as a marketing manager at local distributor, Alepine Peripherals.
Before that she was a business development manager for Panasonic and director of marketing at Viewsonic.
Zhao is best known in the channel industry after spending 10 years as the marketing manager for Ingram Micro Australia.
