Witness Systems, a US-based provider of workforce optimisation software has completed its US$75 million acquisition of Blue Pumpkin Software.
Witness Systems develops a range of call monitoring, computer-based training and analytics tools under the eQuality brand name.
The acquisition of Blue Pumpkin -– first announced in mid-December last year -- gives Witness an extended product range built around voice recording and screen capture software, said Dermot McCutcheon, MD at Witness Systems Australia.
The acquisition boosts Witness’ range by adding forecasting, scheduling, adherence and planning applications.
"We are the only vendor that can provide a complete suite of optimisation tools around workforce management," he claimed.
McCutcheon confirmed that no local staff would lose their jobs as a result of the acquisition. Witness has 15 staff in Sydney and Blue Pumpkin has two.
Witness currently does around 45 percent of its total sales here through indirect channels, engaging local integrators such as NSC, Dimension Data and Touchbase to sell its wares.
The company intends to move to a completely indirect sales model in the future, he said. All Blue Pumpkin sales in Australia are through indirect channels via resellers such as Premier Technologies.
