Major PC vendors will unveil their new tablet and notebook offerings running Windows 8 this week, according to reports.
Microsoft last week launched the Release Preview of its new operating system ahead of its final and completed launch in September.
Acer, Asus and Toshiba are expected to reveal their latest line of tablet and notebook PCs running the near-final operating system at the Computex expo in Taiwan later this week.
Acer is expected to demo an Intel-based tablet, Asus will have both Tegra and Intel X86-powered models and Toshiba has opted for ARM as its CPU choice.
"The theme of this year's Computex is clear. Visitors can expect a broad range of products related to Windows 8," said Joanne Chien, a senior analyst at a research centre told DigiTimes.
Microsoft last week announced an offer allowing those who buy Windows 7-preloaded PCs after June 2 to upgrade to the newer operating system for US$15. The offer would be made available in 131 markets but the company has not disclosed whether Australia is included.
